Mark uses his industry experience, technical background, and analytical approach to drive measurable profitability for every client — a discipline built over 26+ years, not a pitch deck.

He began his engineering career at Ford Motor Company, then moved through increasingly senior roles at Tompkins Associates, General Tire and Rubber Company, and Taco Bell — where he won the Taco Bell President's Award. He left Taco Bell to found Strategic Restaurant Engineering (SRE), applying industrial engineering specifically to restaurant operations. SRE's methodology became FPG.

Mark holds a B.S./M.E. from the University of Buenos Aires and an M.S.I.E. from North Carolina State University. He wrote the foodservice chapter of Maynard's Industrial Engineering Handbook — the standard reference used by industrial engineers across every industry — and is a frequent guest speaker at industry events.

Mark Godward, Principal of FPG
"Consistency of the guest experience is the essence of a great operating company — and food is the cornerstone of that experience."
